We live in a nice area, and the school my 3rd grader goes TO is really nice. First of all there's a boy in his class that has been telling all the kids about sex, very graphic nasty stuff. When my son came home and told me what he was hearing I wanted TO cry. This is stuff that most teens don't hear. I was so sad and angry. I went TO the teacher and apparently other parents were coming forward too. They suspended the kid and now everytime he talks about these things they send him home for the day. He goes home all the time! My little boy was so innocent and now knows graphic adult subject matter. TO top it off today while at lunch a boy wanted the soccer ball during a friendly game at school and threw my boy TO the ground scratching UP his arm, head and bloody lip. JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA-With rumors swirling about Osama bin Laden's possible death from typhoid fever in Pakistan, Hamida al-Attas, the al-Qaeda leader's mother, said she is "worried sick" about her son and wished that he would send "some sort of sign" that he is alive.

"If I know my Osama, his [cave] is a shambles," said al-Attas, who noted that his beard was "getting a little out of hand" in the last photos she saw of him, and that his fatigues and Afghan-style headdress "didn't look warm enough. When he's on his own, he doesn't look after himself properly. I can't tell you how many times his father and I have gotten on him about that. But I guess he's always been stubborn."

Admitting that bin Laden was no longer "the nice boy who'd come home from al-Thager Model School all eager TO tell me about his day," al-Attas said she regretted the fact that he has not been a part of the extended family in so long. Al-Attas has even contemplated releasing a videotape of her own urging bin Laden TO let her know he's alive, and TO tell her whether he is wearing the mukluks she sent him in 2002.

But whatever trouble he may be in, al-Attas said she hoped bin Laden knew that he would "always be my baby" and that "he can always come home."

and shot a lay-UP. It bounced off the backboard before sinking through the hoop. He quickly rebounded

and started for the hoop on the opposite side of the blue court. Jack liked the long shadows cast by

the lights on top of the backboards. Jack liked two things the most: night and basketball. There was

something magical and mysterious about the night. Playing basketbal in the daytime was fun too, but

nothing beat playing it at night. The night was his time. He always felt more energetic after

dark, even more powerful. Jack stopped at the three-point line and took a shot. It hit the rim

with a donk and bounced along the pavement until it came TO a stop at the chain link fence that surrounded

the court. Wiping sweat off his brow that was caused by both running and the hot summer air, Jack

chased after the ball. As he picked it UP, he thought he saw something atop a building. It was the six-story

bank that his mom worked at in the mornings. As suddenly as he had glimpsed it, it dissapeared. Jack was

sure he had saw a pair of glowing red eyes. After staring at the building's rooftop for another minute, he

convinced himself that he had just imagined it, and ran down the court TO take another shot. But the boy had

not imagined it. He had no idea, but Jack was being watched. Atop the building, a dark, statue-like being

was staring intently at Jack as he played basket ball. The thing on the building top was not human. Something

was nagging at the back of the creature's mind. The boy was playing like nothing was wrong, like the only

important thing was his game, when indeed, something else much bigger than he coud imagine was going on.

The creature was briefly aware of a presence close by when another older being much like himself glided TO a stop by

his side. After looking down at Jack for a minute, the second creature spoke in a deep, grave, and quiet voice.

"Are you sure this is the right one? Yes," replied the first one. "And you believe this is the right time?" The

two dark creatures looked at eachother. "Yes, I think it is, acording TO the Ancient Stories." There was another

momentary pause as they turned their gaze back TO Jack. "Very well," the second creature said. "Let it begin."

ANSWERS:

I think you should consider rewriting this from the POV of one of the creatures. The beiginning isn't as strong as the second half.

The writing is okay - it could use some work, but I love the concept of the creatures and the ancient stories.
