A study by a Duke University research and several colleagues reveals what I think I've known all along. Short guys get no play in online dating from women and, if they do, it's because they're making 30,000 more a year than their taller counterparts. The same goes for fat chicks. Women who are big (AND I'M NOT TALKING 15 POUNDS OVERWEIGHT) tend to have a harder time getting men's attention online that thinner women do. This is no surprise, really. Considering that the online dating and matchmaking industry tops 1.1 billion dollars a year and is only growing in popularity, researchers admit that dating sites are the perfect databases for studying people's dating habits. The study, which is still under review for publishing, reveals that, of the 22,000 online daters, women tend to put a premium on men's income and height when deciding which men are worth contacting. For example, THE STUDY REVEALS THAT A MAN WHO STANDS AT 5'9 NEEDS TO MAKE 30,000 MORE THAN A GUY WHO IS 5'10 IF HE WANTS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN ONLINE DATING. As for fat chicks, guys don't care how much money they make; no contact will be made unless the guy himself is pretty rotund. Wow, if short guys had a chip on their shoulder before, they're gonna be hella pissed now.
