Alpha males are excellent -- I've enjoyed reading their exploits in romantic hope novels by Pamela Clare and Cindy Gerard.
But my daydream brave man has a mix of Alpha AND Beta. He's hurt, physically and/or emotionally, and as a result has a lot of opacity. He's shrewd and well-behaved of women. He's clean-shaven, tall, and lean. And I don't mind him in shackles (break...the Hot in Chains Free offer just ended!) My daydream brave man is not a bad boy, but a man who gets in trouble due to standing up for others.
When I was dating terminated, I hunted a man who was ready to go and may well talk about his feelings.
