They are going to be measures, empirically tested over time to reveal evidence to support NLP competencies within a specific set of applications rather than just a generic psychotherapy approach to NLP. Hence, my training certifications for both levels will focus a lot more on practice. The core content will be drawn from already existing books or e-learning modules. Practical sessions are where you can actually receive clear guidance and gain competence.

Certification is a mark of competence. NLP certification under my new approach will ensure that you increase in your value as a coach. Because it is practice and feedback based, your ability to maintain your NLP certification will come from your practice areas. The ability to use NLP is a better mark of a good practitioner, rather than someone who has merely completed a course of study.

Practitioners and Master Practitioners can then join our upcoming communities of practice in order to legitimize the practice of NLP in the context of COACHING.

If you don't want a certification from some 'Mickey Mouse' institute, please check the reputation of the trainers first and apply some common sense. A tougher training is definitely much more rigorous and therefore valuable for your own development. I can't stop people from taking an easy way out, but I can certainly support those who have a rigorous approach to their practice process.

I dreamed a dream overnight sometime in November of 2009. In my dream, I was at the backyard of a house. Evening time was at hand. I, along with a cat, was swimming in the lake that was behind the house. Whose house this was, I do not know. But I swam, with the cat as my swimming companion.

Obviously, being human, I can swim a lot faster than a cat can. So I swam at my regular pace but before long, there had been somewhat of a distance created between myself and this cat. I didn't notice this immediately. When I looked back to check up on the cat, the cat had sunk to the bottom of the lake.

I hurried back to the area where I last saw the cat. And when I arrived there, I saw the cat at the bottom of the lake with its eyes wide open as if in horror. It wasn't struggling or anything, it just laid there, frozen with its eyes staring back at me. I looked down at this cat and wondered if I should dive to the bottom of the lake and pull it out.

But I as pondered on this thought, another thought crossed my mind. I thought to myself, why even bother? I'm not a cat person at all. In fact, they freak me out. They're lazy, and care only about themselves, unlike dogs. I'm more of a dog person. I love them passionately. But in this dream, I was dreaming of an animal (the cat) that I clearly had indifferent feelings for.

So after a few moments of reflection, I decided to leave the cat down at the bottom of the lake. Then, I swam out. But as I did, I still couldn't stop thinking about the cat. I stood there on the side of the lake, wondering if what I did was the right decision. Should I go back for the cat and perform CPR on it? Do I even know how to perform CPR on an animal?

It was while I was contemplating my next move that I sprung awake from my dream.

INTERPRETATION:

When I woke up, I was confused but wasn't scared. I woke up with a steady heartbeat, unlike other times when I had had dreams that predicted ominous events. What in the world could this particular dream mean? I was baffled but wasn't worried.

About a few weeks later following the dream, my girlfriend and I broke up abruptly. I loved the girl quite dearly, but deep down in my heart, I knew from day one that she wasn't the type of woman a responsible man should marry. The breakup was devastating nevertheless. I was emotionally wrangled. I cried like a babe and poured out my heart to my guardian spirit. I reached out in agony for hope of a better tomorrow, but it never came.

But as time came and went, a realization dawned upon me. I knew I was better off without this girl because of her characteristics. She loved partying too much, never liked staying in the house, got bored rather easily, was always on the go, cared only about herself (classic trait of a cat), was very combative and didn't seem to understand that tiffs between couples shouldn't be allowed to last long. Before the breakup, I ignored all these glaring signs for reasons that I'm sure some of you can imagine. I was emotionally attached, to say the least.

But like in the dream, I got over her rather quickly by simply looking at her list of undesirable manners. I found myself living in peace with the fact that it was for the greater good that she was ejected out of my life. The characteristics I listed about this woman were in fact real and to me, very disturbing, which is why I restrained myself from aggressively trying to get her back after the breakup.

There's more to this story, but what you just read is the overall gist of it. In my dream, I had for a companion a pet animal that I would have never, in a million years, voluntarily adopted as my own. I'm just not a cat person and never will be. So in this dream, something specific was being told to me by the cat being made to be my companion. The message was telling me that the person I was with, whose selfish characteristics resembled that of a cat, was not the chosen one. The message was bitter to accept. But, again, it was for the greater good.

0 Farewell Boxy Shirts And Baggy Capri Pants

I love summertime. I love the ocean and everything associated with it--surf, salt air, sailing and lobster. I love the fact that there's an abundance of limes and mint for Mojitos. So it's always sad when the air turns cooler in September, heralding the end of another summer season. There are a couple of summer fashion items, however, I'm not sorry to bid adieu to. The first is my swimsuit (see previous posting). Another is the pairing of boxy-styled shirts and baggy Capri or cropped slacks.I understand the urge to wear comfy, baggy clothing. It's so frustrating to see one's body lose its youthful shape or, worse, expand in 365 different directions. But covering up with as much fabric as possible isn't the answer. Too much fabric just makes women look bigger than they really are. And the cropped pants make most legs look shorter, stumpier. To illustrate, I've drawn myself in a shapeless, Hawaiian-style shirt over baggy Capri pants. However, it's a combo I would never, "ever" wear. And it makes me so sad to see so many other women wearing it.Besides being engulfed in too much fabric, the oversized man-styled shirt and baggy Capri slacks is masculine looking. Looking feminine is, perhaps, the Number #1 way the after 50 woman can look her best. The perky, trim twenty-something can wear the boyfriend's suit jacket-which, apparently, is a wardrobe 'must-have.' Maybe the tall, rail-thin 50+ woman can, too. (Think: rocker Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders.) But the full-figured and pear-shaped older woman should think twice before dressing like her husband or other men. It's just not flattering for two reasons. First, our figures are less shapely and more manly-breasts and belly have begun to blend, the belly protrudes, the waistline parallels the hipline. And second, if your face is like mind-with its sags, bags and jowls-it has lost some of its feminine definition and is more masculine looking than it was 20 years ago. We don't need to compound the situation with a manly wardrobe. We need to balance the mounting man attributes by dressing in feminine clothing. I'm not suggesting that all women should burn their Capri slacks. On the right after 50 body-the one that's petite and/or blessed with slim legs-a slim-cut Capri slack combined with a fitted top can be very flattering. It even works with the pear-shaped or full-figured woman who has great legs. When a girlfriend of mine-who is full-figured with great legs-wears a fitted top over slim-cut Capri pants, she looks wonderful. I've included a drawing of her at a 4th of July barbecue. The key is limiting the amount of fabric involved. At a restaurant over Labor Day, I saw a fifty-something woman dressed in a black V-neck top and white Capri pants (seeing drawing). She was petite and looked fantastic in her nice-fitting outfit. So on this first day of autumn, I wish to bid adieu to all the boxy shirts and baggy Capri slacks in women's wardrobes. It's time for those items to go into storage. And with any luck, they'll be too stained, faded, or thread worn to return for another season.

Growing up, I always imagined that I'd eventually become successful in life. Back then, I knew nothing about social anxiety. Actually, it's only been recently that I've been able to fully understand why I am the way I am - and that it actually had a name. Granted, I knew there was something different about me because I always struggled getting along with people. I knew I was shy, but I didn't think a little "shyness" would eventually lead to the life I have now. I really had high hopes for myself. I wanted to finish university, get an exciting, high paying job and really start living life. Little did I realize that my little "shyness" problem would ensure that I experienced nothing but failure, anxiety, and persistent hopelessness. Even though my high school years were a nightmare, I suppose I did have an opportunity to turn things around once I completed university. However, by this time, my social phobia had evolved to the point where I, literally, couldn't function. This was where my real struggle started. As the years went on, I quickly realized that my life wasnt anything close to what I'd hoped it would be. I found myself giving up a good job and becoming isolated because I couldn't handle being around people. So, instead of making 50,000 a year, I was struggling to pull in 20,000. Instead of being able to buy a house, I moved back home and then into a small bachelor apartment. From the time I left high school, life was just one big disappointment after another. I had no friends, no girlfriend, no social life, and I was flat broke. Even though I'm trying to get my life back on track, in many ways that ship has sailed. As I approach my 40s, I realize that there are many things that have been taken from me by SA. Am I using social anxiety as a scapegoat? Maybe it's just that I'm lazy and have no ambition. On the surface, Girl, Aloud looks like a fun, fluffy book about one girl's journey to The X Factor. In reality, it's a well-written, moving story about family, friends, and what it means to stand up for yourself.

It took me a good fifty pages to get into this book, as it's written in such an unusual style. It includes dream conversations, imaginary scenarios and quite a lot of instant messaging. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, but by the end, I absolutely loved Emily Gale's style of writing. It's fresh and new, and makes her stand out from the YA crowd.

Kass's family situation took a while to unfold, and rather than being frustrating, it just made me like the characters that much more. I got to know them as they are, with no drama or medical issues, and that really allowed me to sympathise with the family as all their shortcomings are slowly revealed. Kass is a strong girl who is almost carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, and I admired her strength and determination. She chooses her own path, along with her own friends and relationships, and proves that it's okay to make your own decisions. Kass's brother Raff was by far my favourite character. He's like a thirteen-year-old money-making businessman, and has some of the best lines in the book. His relationship with Kass develops as her story progresses, and I really enjoyed their subtle sibling rivalry.

Although Girl, Aloud looks like it's all about a reality TV show, it really isn't. The X Factor is a secondary plot thread, and t hough important to a certain degree, it doesn't define what this book is about. Don't let your preconceptions put you off -- Girl, Aloud is a witty, poignant debut novel that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for families and everything that they do.
